MY PIZZA CHART

EVALUATION

1) As shown in the image above, a healthy 'balanced meal' many of the foods contained in the pyramid are needed to keep a healthy balance of foods. When i was deciding on what i wanted to put on my pizza i went back and reviewed this pyramid. A healthy balanced meal is nutritious and healthy. The pyramid above is defined as a healthy meal, vegetables, fruits, calcium, protein, fiber. A healthy diet is eating the right proportions of food out of eat of the food groups.

2) I made these choices because i chose the foods out eat of the following food groups, this was so i had all of the nutritional content i needed. As well as the appearance of the final meal this was because i wanted my meal to look very well and the time i had to actually prepare my meal wasn't very long it only took around 15 minutes but then it took me quiet a long time to clean up all of the equipment i used .

3) I executed this task quiet well, during the process of making my meal i encountered many problems, for example not having enough quantity of certain foods for such as milk and the banana. When i was making my meal i was very far ahead of time, but i was in a big mess in my work place. I was sort of organized when i was preparing to cook as i had everything set out until i started to cook then it started to be a disaster everything was everywhere. In the end of the lesson when i finally took out my pizza i thought it was ready until i looked closer at my pizza and realized it wasn't cooked properly.

4) Overall, i have learned lots from this task about myself, for example having to be cleaner when i am cooking my meals, be more precise with the quantity of food i am actually ordering. Make sure i am not rushing my cooking time, as sometimes it doesn't cook properly in the amount of time that i allow for it to cook.

5) It i did this again i would make sure i i am more organized because when i wasn't organized everything just turned into being a disaster and i ended up rushing the cooking time of my pizza. Also i would make sure i don't over order foods because at the end of my pizza i ended up with 4 mushrooms and 1/4 of cheese left over that i didn't actually need.

Left over foods

When i made my pizza, i had selected too much quantity in mushrooms ( i had 4 mushrooms too many), aswell as having selected too much cheese as when i finished i had nearly 1/4 of a cup leftover. When deciding on what i wanted to put on my pizza i should of been more careful on how much i was actually ordering.

Balanced diet pizza

On friday when i made my pizza i got to class really early, the first thing i did after marking the roll was to get all of my ingredients that i was going to put on my pizza. I turned on my oven and i was ready to get stsrted, i cut up everything and put it on my pizza and then it was time to put it in the oven. Then it was time to make my smoothie, i added my milk and banana and then mixed it all up until it was all smooth. When my pizza was finally done i took it out of the oven, it was a little bit under cooked but it still tasted alright.

My pizza and smoothie

To make my balanced diet i decided to put the following foods and explanations listed below:

- mushrooms: they are in the vegetable section in the dietary pie graph.

- pizza base: the pizza base contains carbahydrates which is good for a balanced diet.

- milk: milk is appart of the calcium section in the pie graph.

- banana: banana is apart of the fruit section.

- tomato sauce: this is apart of the vegetable section on the dietary graph.

- chicken: chicken is a good serve of protein according to the daily eating graph.

- avacado: a good serve of heLthy fat and also belongs to the vegetable section.

Making sausage rolls

Today me and my partner Pepper make sausage rolls and we faced only one problem along the way. As soon as we got all of our equiptment and turn our oven on we started cooking. We had to mix all of the mince together with all of the vegetables until they were well combined. When they were finished we had to put them in the pastry and stick the pastry together. The final step was to cut them into smaller shapes and then place them into the oven. When they were finally ready we took them out and put them into our container. We only faced one problem which was cooking them, as it seemed that our ovem wasnt even cooking them at one stage.

Cookies

Today we made cookies, they tasted very good. We collected all of our equiptment and then got started with making the dough. We made 12 cookies altogether by the end and we faced some problems throughtout this session. We didnt leave enough time to cookie the cookies so by the end they were more like dough, but it was alright because they still tasted very good.

Fourth cooking lesson

today was my fourth cooking lesson we made chicken and avacado quesadillas which ended up tasting really good. We had to make sure we had all the ingredients and then it was time to get started. We shredded up the chicken and cut up the avacdo into slim pieces then we had to cut up the sundried tomatoes. Just before it was ready to go into the toaster we added the cheese, then it was time to toast them. By the end the quesadillas tasted very good and we had no problems during the process.

ACTIVITY 3

Activity sheet: healthy eating
what is a balanced diet?

1. Are any of the food groups missing?

- The answer depends on what is in the salad, because if there was no vegetables there could be no fibre.

2. Are the correct proportions being eaten?

- In the 14 year old, the portions aren't correct because they are mostly eating the fatty foods instead of the right portions, but the 28 year old the portions are mostly correct.

3. How could the diets be more balanced?

- If the 14 year old ate more of the daily required food groups, instead of the food they are eating now.

THIRD LESSON

Today was our third lesson of hospo, we made scones! I was very excited becuase i really like the taste of scones. We firstly were taught the technique on how to need the ingredients together so that it wasn't 'heavy'. I really enjoyed making the scones becuase i have never really made them. Overall, in the end with the jam and cream my scones tasted very good and my partner Pepper and I were the first finshed!

My second cooking lesson

Today we made macaroni and cheese, i was happy becuase i really like macaroni and cheese. we firstly had to get all of the ingredients and learn how to make it from Mrs baker. When she was finished we went to our cooking bench and got our macaroni on the boil. Then we got started on the cheese part. We had to melt the butter on the stove and then added flour when it was completly melted. After that we added the milk and then finally the cheese. My partner and I put it in the oven to melt the cheese and make it more crispy. This was one of my favourite dishes.

MY FIRST COOKING LESSON

Today i walked into Hopspitality and services very excited. This was becuase it was my very first cooking lesson as i was away the first. I was then told we were making apple crumble. Firstly Mrs Baker explained how we were going to make the apples, we had to peel the skin off and then take the core out and when that was done we had to boil the apples on the stove. After the apples were finished we had to make the crumble we had to need in the butter which i found fun. The final step was putting the apple crumble in the oven until golden brown. The apple crumble tasted very good after this process.
